Choosing the best baby carrier

Choosing the best baby carrier

Choosing the right carrier for our babies is a challenging process. Everywhere you turn, it seems like people are screaming brand names at parents but not really getting into the why. Why do they think this brand is the best? Why does it work for them? Why didn't another brand work for them?

I get asked which brand is the best all the time. I always stumble a bit when it comes to this question. I don't think there is an universal answer. My strategy is to answer it with a series of questions. What do you want your carrier to do? What is your budget? Where do you like to carry weight? We always finish at the same place - trying the carriers on. This is the best way to determine which carrier is your perfect fit.

The call of a brand can be very strong. These brands are amazing at creating a culture around them of devoted fans. Usually for very good reason. We are lucky to have such a huge selection of quality carriers to choose from. One thing we don't lack in this market is choice. Often the choice that is out there can be really overwhelming.

As an educator it’s my job to take the choices and break them down for you so that you don't feel lost in a sea of overwhelming choices. I’ve done the research and tried on as many brands as I can get my hands on so that I can help you understand which choice is going to be the best for you.

I meet a lot of parents after they have made a purchase. Far too many times I see parents in a carrier that doesn’t meet their needs. It could be that the fit is off for their body type or it’s not the right carrier to do the jobs they need it to do. If the store you are shopping at doesn't know what the pros and cons of the carriers you are looking at they don't have the knowledge to help you make the right choice. No carrier is universally perfect for everyone.

But what if you can't try anything on? We can still talk through the options to find the right fit for you. Let me me help you make the right choice the first time.
